I have been a member of GFE Structural since 2004 and an owner since 2013. As an owner I’m responsible for a little and a lot of everything, from design to site observations, coordination with clients and providing support for all our engineers at GFE Structural. But more importantly, I’m responsible for making sure that GFE Structural still embodies the core values and mission from which it was founded upon 30 years ago: Providing the most innovative and best engineering solutions for our clients.
I grew up in the woods just outside New York City where I was introduced to building at an early age. My family embarked on a remodel of our house that lasted most of my childhood and is still continuing today. Early on, I learned that a large part of design and construction involved solving problems and honestly that is why I still love working on buildings today.
I went to college to study engineering and pursue my career, but also found that the mountains and the outdoors is where I felt the most alive and free. After finishing my studies, I spent several years climbing, traveling and exploring what makes our world so beautiful. It was during that time I realized my career and love of the outdoors needed to co-exist and Boulder gave me that perfect mix.
When I’m not at work, you can find me either chasing after my two boys, Rio and Dax, or running or climbing with my wife Dana. And on occasion if I’m not at work, I’m probably climbing in Rocky Mountain.
