Peter Henson, E.I.T.

project Engineer

Peter joined the GFE Structural team in January 2024 as an Associate Engineer.

Growing up in North Dakota and Minnesota, Peter built snow forts at home, shelters at Boy Scout camping adventures, and Lego castles with his siblings. He’s always been drawn to the joy of applying mathematics and physics to solve real-world problems. This led him to study Civil & Environmental Engineering from North Dakota State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Following, he earned a Master’s degree from the University of North Dakota in Aerospace Sciences with a focus in engineering, which culminated in an internship at Kennedy Space Center.

He gained a few years of experience at a civil engineering firm in North Dakota, where he got a taste for each of the various disciplines within civil engineering. What he found is structural engineering is the field he enjoys the most and is the most rewarding to him. Peter earned his EIT license in 2022, and his goal is to earn his P.E. license.

In his time at GFE Structural he has helped the team with design, calculations, drafting, and structural observations of homes and other structures in the greater Boulder area.

Passions Peter enjoys include skateboarding, snowboarding, spending time with family and friends, camping, hiking, board games, video games, diy projects, reading, arts and crafts, hobby electronics, amateur astronomy, and making music.
